Can we get together for a 35th year gathering and celebrate some Esprit De corps..you only do boot camp once Girls!! All you GI Janes come out come out where ever you are..Sgt Davis, Sgt Peak, Sgt Ingram you too! To all 3rd Bat 9th Reg 3rd Mar div that landed at Da Nang on 8 March 1965.
The 2009 3-9 reunion update:
San Clemente, California is looking real good for the 2009 reunion. The Holiday Inn or the San Clemente Inn are the possible lodging and banquet sites. The dates for the reunion are June 10-16 2009.
San Clemente, California is approximately 18 miles from the Main Gate of Camp Pendleton. The exit for the Holiday Inn and/or San Clemente Inn is two exits from GySgt John Basilone Road.
The Events we are looking to put on the week's schedule include:
Tour of Camp Pendleton and surround cities.
Tour of San Diego and a trip to the USS Midway (now a museum docked next to the Navy pier we off loaded on are return from overseas duty).
Tour of MCRD San Diego and lunch on base.
All day and into the night Picnic at The Morale Welfare and Recreation Beach (Camp Pendleton) San Onofre, CA.
Trip to the San Diego County Fair Del Mar, California.
Trip to Disneyland and/or Knotts Berry Farm.
Trip to local Indian Casino.
Possible trip to Mexico
we are going to drink a lot of Corona Beers and eat plenty of Lobster all of which is
cheap-cheap)! Have them passports ready.
General Meeting to discuss future reunions and general L-3-9 business.
We will also have tables set up to play many of the Card games we enjoyed playing
on ship's and in the rear with the gear!
Memorial services for our fallen brothers.
Formal Banquet.
Farewell Breakfast.
